Winter 2022 A s a busy construction worker, husband, and dad of three, the last thing Josh Copsey, of Bloomington, had time for was an injury that would bring his busy world to a halt. Eight months ago, summer was just ramping up with all Josh’s favorites—kids’ ball games, fun in the sun and camping with his family. Sum- mer was also the busiest time of the year for his construction job. Josh remembers the night he was in- jured like it was yesterday. “I wish I had an exciting, daredevil story to blame it on, but it was just a fluke accident,” he says. “I was helping a friend clean up after a graduation party. I was carrying heavy items, turned and twisted my ankle, and fell. I knew it was bad but didn’t realize the extent of it until later.” Quick, compassionate care What Josh thought was a simple twisted ankle turned out to be much more serious. He was in a lot of pain and was rushed to Grant Regional Health Center’s emergency depart- ment. It was quickly determined that Josh’s ankle was broken, and the severity of the break would require surgery. “I was so impressed by the level of care and attention to my needs,” Josh says. “Even though it was close to 3 a.m. by the time we arrived, “ I’m especially grateful to Grant Regional and their excellent staff for the amazing care I received. I describe my care as a 5 out of 5!” —Josh Copsey —Continued on page 4 ‘ 5 out of 5 ’ One patient’s story of injury, recovery and top-quality care
