Grant Regional’s state-of-the-art imag- ing suite includes the Magnetom Aera 1.5T, an MRI (magnetic resonance imag- ing) that provides enhanced comfort for patients and top-quality images for radiologists and physicians. An MRI test uses powerful magnets, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed images that help health care providers diagnose a condition or see how well a patient is responding to treatment. Grant Regional’s MRI offers superb image quality that may be used for a wide range of medical needs— from orthopedics and sports-related injuries to breast cancer testing—and can help physicians make quicker, more accurate diagnoses. It’s your choice Even if you have surgery at a differ- ent facility or are seeing a specialist in another community, you can still come to Grant Regional for diagnostic imaging (MRI, x-rays, etc.), especially if it’s closer to home. When you choose to come to Grant Regional for an MRI, the benefits include: ● Better experience: Significantly quieter exams, head- or feet-first scan- ning, and a wide opening to reduce claustrophobia. ● Improved quality: Images that give greater detail than ever before, resulting in fewer repeat exams and Local, in-house MRI—just for you! improved diagnostics capability. ● Lower cost: More reliable test re- sults at the same cost or even a lower cost than at other hospitals. ● Close to home: Less travel saves time and expense and is an important convenience for patients and their families. ● Integrated care: Local providers can order tests easily, and results flow seamlessly into the patient’s health re- cord for quick and accurate diagnosis. ● Compassionate care: Our imaging staff is composed of highly skilled and compassionate individuals dedicated to the care and safety of our patients. From the patient’s viewpoint, our MRI lessens the exam time by as much as 30% over older imagers. Much of the decreased exam time comes from improved technology for delivering the image signal from the patient to the computers used to store and view the images. Another improvement for patients is a larger, more comfortable test bed. The beds can accommodate larger patients with ease, while provid- ing a more comfortable platform for the test—reducing the restlessness of patients who are nervous or uncom- fortable during the test. Our MRI has a wider opening, giving the patient more comfortable space within the unit. This decreases the feeling of claustrophobia for some patients. From a physician’s point of view, the new MRI greatly improves their ability to diagnose diseases and illnesses at earlier stages. It gives them a more complete picture of what is happening internally. Grant Regional Health Center is proud to offer the region’s most advanced medical technology right here in our community. 3 WINTER 2022
