Among other treatments offered, BotulinumToxin (Botox) injections are becoming popular and widely used to treat chronic migraines. Botox treats chronic migraines by temporarily inhibiting nerve cells from producing pain and allowing muscles to relax. This injection procedure for chronic migraines involves 31 intramuscular injections with a very small needle (across seven sites: forehead, temples, back of the head, neck and shoulders).
